I am so excited about this week! I can’t wait to pop over to Rocks In My Dryer to see all the amazing Give Aways that are going on!

Thanks for stopping into Mel’s World for a bit…I’d love to take a minute to welcome you and tell you how much I appreciate you stopping by.

I would also like to invite each and every one of you to our weekly Book Study that we are doing here on Wednesday’s. We are starting Chapter 3 this week, so there is still plenty of time to join us. We are reading Beth Moore’s book, “Get Out of That Pit“. Mark your calendars for Wednesday and pop back over to join us.

In honor of the Book Study that we are doing I will be giving away this:

A “Get Out of That Pit” Study Pack

(which includes the Get Out of That Pit Book, by Beth Moore, a pretty journal, a sparkley purple pen, and a note to encourage you on your journey out of the pit)

If you already have the book go ahead and sign up for the Give Away so that you can pass this book along to a friend who might really need it.

Here’s what you need to do…

Leave your name, email, and where you are from in the comments and then let me know one amazing thing that has already happened to you in 2008!

The drawing for the Get Out of That Pit Study Pack will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at the end of the Speak to My Soul Sunday post.

PS – If you pick up the Speak to My Soul Button and put it up on your blog (and let me know) I will put your name in the bucket for a Starbuck’s Gift Card. The drawing for the Starbuck’s card will be held on Friday, February 1st.

  67. I’d love to win this prize!

Here’s an amazing thing that happened to me this month: My mom was very very sick, and she’s now doing much better.

And I live in New Jersey. Thanks!

  68. The amazing thing that’s already happened to me in 2008 didn’t really happen to me.

My husband nearly died in an accident last spring. He was being treated for his extensive injuries by the surgeon that had started putting him back together on the first day. In October, the surgeon decided not to accept our insurance anymore and refused to treat my husband unless we paid cash.

We searched and searched for a surgeon who would take over my husband’s treatment. No one would even see him past the first appointment because no one would follow up on another surgeon’s work and no one wanted to continue with the surgery/ies that my husband still needed.

The amazing thing that happened already this year is that we found a surgeon not only willing to continue with my husband’s surgery/ies, but he is willing to tend to the injuries that were already worked on by the first surgeon! More amazing is that the doctor has been completely honest with us and seems to be as upset with by the other surgeon dropping my husband as we are. More than anything, we trust him and after the way hubby was treated by the prior surgeon, we weren’t sure we could trust another surgeon.

Now that I’ve written a nice long book 🙂 I’m Joanna and my e-mail is: [email protected]

  69. Mel- It’s so nice of you to offer this give-away and I’d love to be entered. I recently completed Beth’s Believing God study. One of the amazing things that has happened to me so far this year the way the Lord is speaking to me through my (almost!) daily quiet time. 86. Ohh love Beth Moore. Haven’t been in a study since leaving the states. Would love to start one here. Most amazing thing this year, be able to communicate fluently with other people in this country and finding joy in the Lord in a place where there is less than 1 percent Christian. It was so easy in US where Christian churches sat on every corner speaking English.

  87. Hmm – well, I’m in a pit of infertility at the moment – so this would be great – but the most amazing thing is a friend who told me about her experience and met with me to talk options – good stuff!

    julieahudson[at]hotmail[.]com

I am definitely in a pit (adicted to overeating) and Beth Moore’s support is no doubt the best think that has happened to me this year. I pray that I can change and set my feet on a rock this year and not be moved. I would LOVE to have this kit. I am from Peterscreek, Alaska.
