Catching up, Life’s Passing Me By…

This picture is a pretty accurate depiction of my life lately.

I hate it.

No, not my life.

But yes, all the crazy stuff that’s been going on for the last few months.

More specifically the two weeks leading up to today. I want to be very clear for just a minute…I am not whining or complaining…I LOVE my life, my husband, my handsome teenage sons, my church, my friends…BUT…

Isn’t there always a BUT?

BUT…I feel like my head is spinning and to be quite honest (since I am all about “keeping it real” here) I sometimes really just want to push the pause button. Not the “Pause” I wrote about last week (it was a Speak to My Soul Devotion about Nick having a seizure while I was at the Women of Faith conference)…nope, I am quite certain I don’t want that Pause button again.

Seriously though…doesn’t it feel like there are “seasons” where you go, do, live, and start all over again. It’s like that spin cycle on the washing machine…I get it God, I have lots of “dirt” and my spin cycle must need to be re-run several times.

We’re doing good though. No, really…we are!

We’re adjusting to our “new” normal and seeking the JOY in each part of this journey. I wish I could tell you that it is easy. BUT…eek, there’s that word again, it’s not. The good news is this though, you are NOT alone!

You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the miraculous signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the LORD your God brought you out. Deuteronomy 7:19 NIV

So, if you are like me and you’re trying to catch up because life’s passing you by, then jump on board, we’ll ride the storms together.

PS – Nick is doing much better. We have lots of follow up appointments with several specialists, but he seems to be doing well and for that we are ever so thankful. Thank you so much for your continued prayers, love, and support!
