Book Review ~ Just Too Busy

I have been blessed to know Joanne Kraft for a few years now as a dear sweet bloggy friend of mine. You know, those women that you connect with online that you know if you were neighbors you would be best of friends. Her heart is that of one who is passionate about her family and her faith.
When she contacted me recently and asked me to do a review of her new book I practically jumped up and down girlfriend giddiness. You know that…squealing type of thing we girls do when we are really excited for one of our friends. That was me when I heard about Joanne’s first book. When I received a copy of it in the mail it was real. She had done it. Her published baby was right there in my hands. With it’s brightly decorated cover it was absolutely beautiful.
Then I started to really look at the title…what’s this book about, when I saw the title…”Just Too Busy, Taking Your Family on a Radical Sabbatical” and I knew I was in for a God orchestrated moment. I live my life and ministry at the speed of light and as much as I wanted to read what was tucked inside of these pages I also knew that God was trying to tell me that this is absolutely something I need to work on as well.
In Joanne’s gentle manner she leads you down the path, opens your eyes to see the dangers of A.D.D., no not the typical A.D.D. but the “Activity Denial Disorder” and sheds light on how to break free from it. With sections on “Busy“, “Breakthrough“, “Beware“, “Build” and “Blessing” she not only highlights the busyness in our lives but also walks alongside us as we break free from the busyness that holds us back from seeing the beauty of the God given time you have together as a family.
If you are like me and you struggle with the busyness of “Activity Denial Disorder” then you must check out this book…it will open your eyes and show you how to take your family on a radical sabbatical.

Just Too Busy is the true story of the Kraft family s head-on collision with busyness and the twelve-month experiment that changed their lives. When their children could recite the dollar value meals at McDonalds faster than their times-tables, they knew something was very wrong. So, instead of continuing their bad habits and fitting more into their schedules, they took a year off from all activities and learned how to be a family again.

In this book, readers will laugh their way to learning the ten tell-tale signs that they are too busy and discover the symptoms for a common disorder known to moms today: A.D.D. (Activity Denial Disorder). Families will find simple ways to guard themselves from the temptation of constant distraction.
