Then Sings My Soul 6/7/08
I haven’t been able to go and visit with all my bloggy buddies these last couple of weeks because it has been so very busy and crazy with the end of the school year and my business, but last night was the very “last thing” for me for this season. I feel like the final chains that have held me back to part of my pain have been dropped, and now, starting today, there is a fresh start. A new day! A new beginning, and oh, dear friends, “It is well within my soul!”.
My song today is Chris Tomlin singing “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)” with clips from the movie Amazing Grace (which we are watching tonight as a family).
If you want to go check out more “Then Sings My Soul Saturday” posts go on over and visit Amy at her blog, Signs, Miracles, and Wonders.
This is my most favorite song. I posted this a few months ago… this songs has ministered to me and every time I hear it I am thankful that HE removes my chains.
Thanks for sharing it.
This is one of my favorites! Thanks for posting it – I needed it too! Crazy week here also!
I love that song too, we sang it in church last week and it is such a powerful song. I’m glad things are going to calm down for you! Hugs & blessings!
Chris Tomlin … he ROCKS!
This song … BEAUTIFUL!!
Your choice … FABULOUS!!!
Love it 🙂
Mel,
I just love this song. Chris Tomlin does a fabulous job! Never get tired of singing Amazing Grace!
Glad things are slowing down!
Blessings!

What a great choice for your TSMSS! I think all of us can relate to the busyness with summer upon us. Thank you for posting it today and as I am looking at all the different videos on TSMSS today, there is a definite ushering into worship thru all of them. Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting my TSMSS post! -Blessings, Laurie
I love this song! There is a guy at our churh that sings this and he does an awesome job. I want to see the movie but, haven’t got to yet. Our pastor said it is a good movie. Especially, if you know the history of the person who wrote the song. I want to check the history out before I watch the movie.
Thanks for sharing today.
Have a great weekend!!
Thanks Melissa! Chris Tomlin’s Amazing Grace is my favorite rendition now because how freeing it is…what a great video..piano & fall leaves..and what’s the Walden book or movie interspersed?
I’m so glad that you are getting a break and feeling new! It’s well deserved. Be blessed and enjoy your weekend and summer free & new
found time! Thanks for your visit &
it’s clear you are surrendered & pray daily that He sends you!
This ministered to me today…and it was so encouraging to hear that your chains fell off as well…free to soar..I rejoice with you…love your site design..
Love, Sita
This is a wonderful song. I love to hear it over and over. Thanks for posting it this week.
Tears began to fill my eyes as soon as I saw your song choice! Amazing God is my all time favorite song and when Chris Tomlin came out with this version I loved it even more…or at least they are tied!
I guess it really hit home today because I’ve been seeing more and more each day what a sinner I am and God’s AMAZING GRACE!!!
I play this one a lot in my car. I love this version but I have not ever seen the movie. I am going to have to rent it.
I love this song and video. I shared it not long ago after I got to see Tomlin in concert. What a blessing.
I totally understand how it feels coming to that first day of “freedom”. Today was that day for me…I stayed in my pjs until 11:30 and pretty much rested and read and did things I wanted to do all day long.
Blessings.
Susan
Chris Tomlin is awesome and he has made a great song beyond incredible!!
This is one of my very fave songs too – you can’t help but lift your hands and praise the King!!! Great choice – I love it 🙂
I LOVE this song! It incorporates an old hymn, adds new words and the message is incredible. In fact, I have told my family this is the song I want sung at my funeral (not that I expect that to happen anytime soon but you can never be too prepared!). Thanks for linking to me, I will do the same with your blog so we can stay in touch!
Great song and movie. When we sing this song at church it is very emotional. We have a wooden cross filled with nails. It symbolically represents unsaved people that we are praying for and people that have become Christians. You can hammer in a nail for someone you are praying for or tie on a ribbon for someone who has accepted Jesus. This song is the one that they play when the worship pastor invites us up to the wooden cross.
I love this version by Chris Tomlin! Beautiful. I’m going to call you this week. I’m still in CA,but will return tomorrow. We have VBS but I can call in the afternoon. Are you going to She Speaks?
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this song and the way he sings it.
MMMM!MMMM!MMMM! Girl, this is a good one!
I hope this coming week you can find rest! 🙂
