Do You Think I’m Beautiful – Week 2

Week 2 Memory Verse
Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. ~ Luke 8:47
Oh my goodness friends, this book study has opened up so many amazing stories, history, and past experiences. It is helping us as we look to unpack the “stuff” we’ve been carrying around for so many years.

I hope you are taking 5-10 minutes each day to do your daily workbook. This will give you a chance to meditate on the truths written in God’s word and throughout this book. I know it might be “emotional” and maybe even hard to unpack some of this stuff (or junk), but stick with it and keep going. There is glory on the other side of this…really, there is!

Let’s talk about what we learned this week as we read
Week #2 – “When the Wallflower Is Asked to Dance”

* Take a few minutes to name a few physical attributes that you consider beautiful.
(There is no right or wrong answer, just be honest)

(Note – Women generally name attributes that better describe other than themselves.)

* Now, take a minute to sit and think about a woman who is beautiful. Describe WHY you think this woman is beautiful. List out the reasons either in the comments or on a piece of paper.

(Are you writing down physical traits or character traits and her Christlikeness?)

Note – These women may or may not have been the beauty contest winners, but all were beautiful because of who they are in relationship with God and to others. Healthy relationships with others make our lives richer.

God created us with a longing for Him. Only a relationship with God through Jesus Christ will fill our deepest longings. Yet we constantly try to fill the emptiness or hunger in our lives with something besides God.

* Name a few things that women use to satisfy their longings.
(ie. shopping, drugs, food, relationships, and so on.)

(Human relationships are important, but ultimately our relationships with God last throughout eternity while others may fail or end.)

Ephesians 1:4-6 (The Message) Put your name in the blank line
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations,
he had __________ in mind,
had settled on ________ as the focus of his love,
to be made whole and holy by his love.
Long, long ago he decided to adopt ___________
into his family through Jesus Christ.
(What pleasure he took in planning this!)
He wanted __________ to enter into the celebration
of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.

Would you let me pray with you before we finish today…
Father God, thank you that you knit us together for relationship with each other, but more importantly for a deep relationship with YOU! Father, show us this week how we can turn to you, and only you, to satisfy our needs. Thank you again Father for your love. In Jesus Name, Amen.

We’ll see you back here next week while we take a break from the weekly study to just share some of the highlights from Session #1 & Session #2.

Enjoy the Journey Beautiful,
