What’s a Prayer Shield?

We all know that we need to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) to be prepared to stand our ground against the evil one’s schemes, but specifically let’s take a minute to look at the shield.  It says in verse 16, “in addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

In ministry you and I can expect to have some flaming arrows come our way, and my guess is that if you have been in ministry any length of time you probably have some battle wounds from it.  Right?  I know I do, and they can hurt, but I think that is just another reason why we need a Prayer Shield.

Since I first wrote this post at Exemplify I have now poured out the foundation and started to build my own Prayer Shield for the Mel’s World Ministry.
