Godly Gals ~ Lisa Shaw
Change it Lord
Change him Lord
Change her Lord
Change them Lord and if one is honest they are praying that the Lord will make the changes swiftly.
I’m not suggesting that seeking GOD for change is wrong but there is a cry of the heart that is often missing — the most important change we must seek GOD for and that is Lord, change me. As a follower of Christ I had to learn to cry out to Him to change not just the people and situations around me but FIRST, Lord, change me…
Psalm 26:2-3 (Message Bible) Examine me, GOD, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out so I never lose sight of your love, but keep in step with you, never missing a beat.
Change the things I focus my time and attention
Change the way I respond to my spouse and children
Change my raw response when I feel provoked
Change my thoughts when someone has offended me
Change the way I view myself that I’d look at myself through your lens and not my own.
Change my attitude and my times of unbelief.
Change the need I have to defend myself when You are my Defense!
Change the way I turn to fear before I turn to faith in.
Change my worry to worshipChange my attitude when I feel used, rejected or ignored.
Lord, change me…
Lord, change me…
Lord, please change me!!
Transform me into what reflects Your beauty, majesty and glory LORD. Keep changing me until I shine for You!
Ladies, the more we pray for Christ-centered change the more the Holy Spirit those great changes in our lives and that brings God glory in and through us.
A few of the benefits of praying “Lord, change me” is:
–We remain humble realizing our absolute need for JESUS.
–We walk in love, compassion and patience toward others.
–We take the focus off of problems and place it back on what’s really important: JESUS.
–We become kind–people that others want to be around.
–Our hearts remain open to all that GOD desires to do in and through us.
