Everyone’s got the sickness bug
Well…welcome back to school at the Mashburn house! 3 out of 4 of us, Matt is the only one unscathed at the moment, are sick. Which, for the most part isn’t horrible…but, when you throw in the fact that when one of my kids gets sick it could be a potential trip to the hospital…well, sick just isn’t the same anymore.
Proverbs 18:14 says, A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear? I have to tell you that when we realized that this could be a potential problem my spirit was indeed crushed. Short story is this…my oldest was in the hospital last year for 51 days in the Intensive Care Unit. And although I love the hospital we were in (Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Hollywood, FL) I do not want to have to go back.
I started to worry and get nervous, and although I live by Philippians 4:6 (Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.) at that moment fear set in. I wrestled with God ALL DAY long, and I was mentally and physically exhausted from the stress, but thankfully by the end of the day we had talked to THREE (yep, three) doctors and they all agreed that we should “wait” and see what happens.
So, here we are waiting and praying, but there is such a peace that comes from knowing that no matter WHAT happens that our son is in God’s hands either way. And I have to tell you…that makes the waiting SO much easier!!!
I pray that whatever you are going through right now that the God of ALL will give you a peace about it. I pray that He will sustain you during this time and show you in His time his purpose and path for your life.
Hang in there and wait with me…I know that we are NOT alone! God Bless, Melissa
