Fear, what are you afraid of?

Last night I posted that we watched, as a family, the Starbick’s movie, “Akeelah and the Bee”. I have to say that I was really impressed with this movie and when it was over I was able to walk away with something from it…which is always a nice bonus!

Here is the little nugget I found from the movie. It is actually a quote that is mentioned in the movie and it hit me so profoundly that I just HAD to BLOG about it!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. ” ~Marianne Williamson

WOW…is that stinkin’ awesome or what? I mean, really…sit back and Re-read that one more time…seriously…stop right here and read it again. (did you stop?) I am reading John Maxwell’s book “The Difference Maker” (I may have mentioned that before), and guess what chapter I am on…FEAR…I am serious as can be!!! Here is what Maxwell says, “Fear robs us of our potential (one of Pastor Troy’s favorite words). It makes us smaller than we really are. One of the greatest mistakes we can make in life is is to be in constant fear that we will make one.”

So…do you think that God is trying to tell me something or what? Ha! No, seriously, sometimes we have to step back and tell ourselves that we are who God created us to be, and to quote Ms. Williamson…”who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”…well..I am the Daughter of The King…so I should be, shouldn’t I?
