…not in the sense that you are having a real life identity crisis
…but the soul identity crisis
…where you don’t know whether you are coming or going.
…I have fallen, but am I going to be able to get back up?
…is this too hard? is it worth it?
…what was I thinking?
…am I good enough, brave enough, smart enough, or just ENOUGH?
…what do I want to do? what has God called me to do?
…who do I want to be with for the rest of my life?
…do I want to go back to school?
…do I need to change careers? can I change careers?
…am I where God wants me to be?
There are so many questions, so many challenges, so many obstacles, and I am sure that there are so many more that each of you battle with daily, but this I know:
We are daughters of the King, we are precious in His sight, and His word says…
Pslams 139:14, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Romans 8:16, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
I don’t know if you struggle with this, or if you know someone who does…but I am confident in this…we have all had this question at some point in our walk…WHO AM I?
I pray you take some time right now and really pray about who you are in Him…I know it can be difficult (believe me, I know…), but I also know that if you and I take the time to really seek HIM in this He will show us the mercy we need to find ourselves.
In 2003 Casting Crowns released an amazing song called “WHO AM I”…read some of the words below and see if you can relate:
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright an morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what you’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who you are …
