Who Am I?

Has this ever crossed your mind?
“Who Am I?” (at the core, not just on the outside)

…not in the sense that you are having a real life identity crisis
…but the soul identity crisis

…where you don’t know whether you are coming or going.

…I have fallen, but am I going to be able to get back up?

…is this too hard? is it worth it?

…what was I thinking?

…am I good enough, brave enough, smart enough, or just ENOUGH?

…what do I want to do? what has God called me to do?

…who do I want to be with for the rest of my life?

…do I want to go back to school?

…do I need to change careers? can I change careers?

…am I where God wants me to be?

There are so many questions, so many challenges, so many obstacles, and I am sure that there are so many more that each of you battle with daily, but this I know:

We are daughters of the King, we are precious in His sight, and His word says…

Pslams 139:14, I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Romans 8:16, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

I don’t know if you struggle with this, or if you know someone who does…but I am confident in this…we have all had this question at some point in our walk…WHO AM I?

I pray you take some time right now and really pray about who you are in Him…I know it can be difficult (believe me, I know…), but I also know that if you and I take the time to really seek HIM in this He will show us the mercy we need to find ourselves.

In 2003 Casting Crowns released an amazing song called “WHO AM I”…read some of the words below and see if you can relate:

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright an morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what you’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who you are …

  1. I usually have these “who am I” moments around the time of my birthdays. I know it may sound cliche, but is soooo true. I say to myself, ok God has allowed me to celebrate one more year, what am I going to do with it. Or where am I going, what do am I to with another year of life.
I think is your soul keeping in check.

    Much love to you.

  2. It’s when my eyes are on myself and off from Him that I usually get in the pit and I start to wonder who I am and what’s it all about. When I remember to keep my focus in the right place, upwards, I find that I know who I am and all that He has designed for me to be.

Sad to say, but I struggle with this way too much.

  3. Joylene, Ivy, Ginger…

I am so glad to know that I am NOT the only one who has thought this…especially now (these days I have been doing a lot of reflecting).

Thanks for your openness and honesty!

  4. I am still trying to figure out who I am. It is hard to figure that out because who I am is not define in one word. I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a friend, I am a Miracle from God. Every day we grow, we learn and we realized that every day that passes by we are different than the day before, so how can we ever find that answer? I do not know, but I know that God has a plan and I am part of His plan. Keep the Faith 🙂
    Love, Juliana

  5. Hi! You asked about the signature…the only thing I can think of to try is to click on “customize”, then click on “fonts and colors”, and your “border color” has to be the same as your “back ground color”. Try that, and let me know if it works. I am so “illiterate” when it comes to the whole computer thing….I’m still learning so much!

    Nice to meet you!!!
