It’s My Anniversary!!!

15 Years ago TODAY I married my best friend! It was a whirl-wind courtship, but when you know you just know, right?

We dated for 4 months before he proposed, we were married 6 months later, and on our 1 year anniversary (of knowing each other) I found out I was pregnant with our first son, Nick. Whew…what an adventure God has had us on! Matt & Melissa Mashburn 5/29/93
Here is the church we were married in back in small town Kentucky! I wanted to get married where I grew up so we had a nice small town KY wedding. We took a picture (see below) in front of the church (when the boys were little) to remember that special day.
Thanks so much Matt for being my better half. I could not imagine living my life with any other person. You truly complete me and make me a better person. I thank God for you each and every day!

  1. Congratulations! You sound like us. I got a sapphire after 3 months, a diamond after 6 months and were married 9 months later. 6 months after we were married, I was pregnant. All’s well 27 years later!

  5. Congratulations on 15 yrs! Your courtship was quicker than ours! We met in Sept., started dating in Nov., engaged in August & married in Nov.! But for us, we had to wait 4 yrs before getting pregnant (my husband had some health issues our first few years of marriage).

    Anyway, Congrats again & have fun celebrating! Anything special?

  10. Happy anniversary! We had one of those whirlwind romances, too, 21 years ago! Well, I guess I should say a whirlwind dating period, marriage and first baby…the romance is still going on, just to clarify, that part didn’t end 21 years ago! LOL!

  17. I wish that I had come by on Thursday to congratulate you. Happy Belated Anniversary. Having your family picture taken in front of the church is a great idea. It’s probably been 16 years since I’ve seen the church that we got married in.
