Pray for your friends

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT

This morning my heart has a burden for my friends. There is so much going on in the world right now and even though I would love to say it hasn’t affected me or my family it has, but it has also hit those who are near and dear to me.

I consider it a great privilege to pray for my friends, after all, that’s what Mel’s World is all about (Faith, Family, Friends), and would love to ask you to join me in prayer today…for YOUR friends!

I love the verse in Ecclesiastes (listed above) where it says that “two can stand back-to-back and conquer“. What a great picture of the power of friendship. Throw in the power of prayer and lives can be changed.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22 ESV

Join me today in praying for our friends…what a sweet and precious gift it is to them. Hey, and if you want someone to pray for you too, then please feel free to leave me a comment and I will add you to my prayer list today.

Let’s grab hold of this…”two can stand back-to-back and conquer” and pray purposefully and powerfully for our friends.

  1. Melissa,
    This is so perfect today.

Well, any day for that matter but there is a lot going on with my friends and I have been praying for them but I will continue to do so today.

I have a request for you.

My brother , Barry, has been out of work for a year. He lost his job when the economy went down.

My 2 sons and myself live w/ him since my bout with cancer (healed, praise God). We lost our home in May and a lot of our possessions and we all moved in with my sister in her basement. Anyway, we want so bad for him to get the job God wants him to have and to get our own home.
Of course a prayer for our finaces.

THANK you so much for giving of yourself through prayer and what a blessing to me today!
    Blessings,
    Patty

  2. The Lord is doing an amazing thing in my marriage, drawing my husband and me closer together, as well as closer to Himself. Please pray that He will continue the work, and that we will be faithful to walk in obedience to His calling. Thank you!

This verse came to me the other day… "Far be it from me that I should sin against God in failing to pray for you." This was Samuel… speaking to the Israelites, after they had basically thrown him out of office in favor of a king. That takes a whole lotta love and obedience. Thy Will… not MY will. Yeah.

  3. Such an important reminder, Mel! Thanks for that! I confess that I often forget to pray for my friends like I should.
