Then Sings My Soul ~ More Beautiful You
I love great Christian music and love sharing some songs that you may not have heard of before. I love the classics and pretty much all things Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Natalie Grant, etc., but there are so many other great artists and bands out there as well and I can’t wait to share them every weekend here with you all.
This week I picked a song by Jonny Diaz…the words are fantastic and has such a great message. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! For more Then Sings My Soul Saturday songs head on over to Amy’s at Signs, Miracles, and Wonders.
Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn’t straight her body isn’t fake
And she’s always felt overweight
Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are
There could never be a more beautiful you
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
Little girl twenty-one the things that you’ve already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you’ve got a man but he’s got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead
Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there’s a man whose love is true
And he’ll treat you like the jewel you are
There could never be a more beautiful you
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
So turn around you’re not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It’s not too late you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear they can all be washed away
By the one who’s strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you’ll see through the eyes of a little girl
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
There could never be, a more beautiful you.
Don’t FORGET to CLICK every day…it counts!

This is such a needed song for our girls today…they are getting the wrong message from the "world"…we must teach them that their beauty if from within and that they are beautiful to those that love them…they don't need to change anything to be loved or wanted. We need more songs like this…maybe one for boys that encourages them to stay out of gangs, etc.
God bless,
Mary
Girls of ALL ages need to hear this song. So wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
this goes right along with the book my daughter and I are reading together..Redefining Beautiful by
Jenna Lucado…a great book
I am SO glad that so many of you love this song too…I wish we could shout this from the mountaintops so that all women, girls, teens could hear this and soak up the words of this song…it's SO good!!!
That is a great song for as you said, girls, women, and teens to hear today.
