Operation Christmas Child

Have you ever been a part of something that is so much bigger than yourself?

I mean, it stretches you beyond the walls of your home,
your neighborhood,
your church,
your sphere of influence.

I’ve been blessed to be a part of something just like that with Operation Christmas Child from Samaritan’s Purse. We did it last year with our church and I stood in awe of how many people stepped up, made shoe boxes full of goodies, and spent hours preparing them for delivery.

I wasn’t a part of the team that had anything to do with Operation Christmas Child last year, I was merely a shoe box giver. We’ve done these shoe boxes for year with our boys. We always pick a “BOY” that is the same age as our boys and let our children pick out what to ship to the child that is receiving this box.

This year I am so excited to actually be on the planning team and the staff liason for Operation Christmas Child at our church. We kicked off our shoe box drive this past Sunday with a bang and had people lined up for almost ten minutes after the service ended wanting to be a part of what God is doing with Operation Christmas Child.

I can’t wait to watch and see what God has in store for our church through this project…I’ll be sending out updates as we get closer to the Collection Week.

The cool thing is that it is NOT too late for you to get involved too! There are supplies, print materials, and drop locations all at the click of a button on the website ~> Operation Christmas Child.

It’s a small investment with a GREAT BIG impact! You can do it within your family, your church, your moms group, your Bible study, your home school co-op, you name the group and it can be done. Watch what God does with your fish and loaves when they are put together with the other shoe boxes all over the world. You too can make a difference this Christmas!

If you do decide to jump in and get involved in Operation Christmas Child this year, please take a minute and leave me a comment. I’d love to encourage you, celebrate with you, and cheer you on this Christmas season!

Also…if you’ve done Operation Christmas Child before I’d love to hear your comments on the impact it has made on your family or your general experience with it.

Thanks so much for being Women of Action…I love that about you!
