Godly Gals ~ Courtney Joseph

Come Live Well With Me
By: Courtney Joseph
What is living well?  Is it having a Prada purse over your shoulder?  A size 3 waist?  A mansion you call home? Or is it sensing the presence and joy of God in your life, having a marriage where you feel intimate and having children who enjoy the haven you have created in your home?

With all the mixed signals we get in the movies, television and on the web it is hard to know who to listen to.  But there is one voice that supersedes them all – that is God’s word!  In order for us to live well, we must learn to drink from the living well or living waters of God’s word daily.

Many women ask me;

“How do you do it all?

How do you read your Bible daily, tend to all your husband’s needs, home school, blog, keep an orderly home, and exercise regularly?”

And my answer is DISCIPLINE

I don’t just make plans – I implement them. (although I’m human – not superwoman — so I am far from perfect and I’m struggling on this journey with you!)

Below are some strategies that work for me (and I know it does not work for everyone – but I write these so that maybe one thing on the list could help you.)

1.) I have an accountability group for my morning quiet times called the “Good Morning Girls” Daily we email and say good morning to each other after we have our quiet times. You could start a group too!!!  On May 1st I will be unveiling my brand new website at http://www.goodmorninggirls.org

2.) I was featured on the Rachael Ray Show in a segment on 50’s wives. As I follow God’s word on marriage, I have found that it baffles the women of our generation – hence the reason why Rachael Ray put me in the Time Warp of the 50’s!  Every Monday, I write about being a submissive, respectful, and helpful wife. As I work on these things in my own life – I hope to inspire other women to do the same.

3.) As far as cleaning goes – Here’s my new 2010 Weekly Cleaning Schedule and Meal Planner

This quote by Elizabeth George sums up my passion:

Homemaking is an art, and you have the privilege of expressing and developing all your talents there in a little place called home.  You get to build…beautify… organize…create…fuss…and express yourself. You get to read and study and grow and master nutrition, finances, horticulture, design, wardrobe, etc. And you also get to shape your children, to give their precious lives a bent toward God. To nurture their souls with the good things of God. To pass on the truth about Jesus to one more generation.  And to do so means you’ve got to be dedicated, organized, and a woman of purpose. And you’ve got to have the spunk and energy to follow through on all the dedication, organization, and purpose that answering God’s high calling to homemaking requires.”
–Elizabeth George, A Woman’s High Calling

We will live well when we live according to God’s word and we work hard to fulfill his calling in our lives.
Come live well with me and walk with the King!

Wow Courtney, thank you so much for the gentle reminder, the meal planning and cleaning schedule…you have certainly blessed us with great information!  What a very true statement…As I follow God’s word on marriage, I have found that it baffles the women of our generation…and it is something that God has given you a passion and mission for, which is fabulous!
How about you?  Has God given you a passion and mission for something specific?  Has He been pushing you to step outside the box a little bit?  Maybe the next step is to start sharing that passion/mission with others.  If it is, I would love to have you share it with us here in the Godly Gals series.
Just send me an email at melsworldministry {at} gmail {dot} com for a copy of the Submission Guidelines.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, we’ll see you tomorrow!
