When the Storm Clouds Roll In

…and we know they will!
These last few weeks have been hard.
There, I said it.
I don’t know why it is so hard to admit that.
I’m certainly not wonder woman (although I did totally love her cuffs), and Lord knows I don’t have it all together, but for some reason it is so hard to admit that the storms sometimes knock the wind out of me.
The storms have been beating wildly and often lately,
just as soon as I come up from air from one,
the next one rolls in, and yes, I cling to Him and His promises…
but…if I am completely honest,
this girl just needs a break.
Where’s the pause button?
Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could do that…
Pause – the kids can’t get any older
Pause – my hair wouldn’t be gray
Pause – the good days would linger on and on
Unfortunately that’s just not our reality, so we learn to live in the storm, hoping, waiting, praying for a new day full of sunshine and blue skies.
So here I am in the midst of the storm, clinging to my life preserver and resting in His promises. I don’t know if you are in a storm right now too, but here are a few verses that I cling to when the storm clouds roll in.
I pray they bless and encourage you as you wait for your sunshine and blue skies kind of day!
Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. ~ John 16:32 NLT
When I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me the strength I need. ~ Psalm 138:3 NLT

I cried out to the LORD in my suffering, and her heard me. He set me free from all my fears. ~ Psalm 34:6 NLT

We are pressed on every side by trouble, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NLT

I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. ~ Psalm 16:8 NLT
