Over the course of the last year I know that it has not been an accident that I would start reading incredible books like;
The Hole in Our Gospel, by Richard Stearns
Radical, by David Platt
Outlive Your Life, by Max Lucado
Crazy Love, by Francis Chan
(oldest son read Crazy Love and it changed his whole perspective on life)
Books that forced me to see the reality of what is going on in this great big world of ours.
The pain,
the suffering,
the injustice,
the inhumanity,
the malnutrition,
the hopelessness.
It’s completely overwhelming…where do you begin?
Can one person really make a difference?
Just at that moment hope started to creep in, it was just as if the skies of darkness opened up and a ray of sunshine poured through it. It was right there that I began to see that there is so much that JUST ONE person can do.
One person can make a difference;
in your serving,
in your prayers,
in your donations,
in your life,
in your ministry,
in your heart,
and with your voice.
Right now there are people suffering in your neighborhood and across the globe. Break My Heart For What Breaks Yours is not just a prayer for foreign missions…it’s a prayer that leads you into the place of God’s heart for you.
Right now, our heart breaks for Haiti. My husband is getting ready to go back for a third trip in six months. It’s something so very near and dear to our hearts. As a matter of fact our oldest son just went to Haiti this past summer and can now see that God is preparing him for ministry as well.
Now with the outbreak of cholera spreading through the country and the recent death toll over 250 people and another 3000 more sick with the disease it makes what was already a horrific situation a place of dire need.
We’ve partnered with an incredible organization called The Great Commission Alliance (GCA) and over the next couple of years we’re going to be taking more trips down to Haiti to help in any way we can.
